Bahiyyih Nakhjavani was born in Iran, raised in Uganda, and educated in the UK and the States. She has taught literature and creative writing in many countries, is the author of non-fiction as well as novels, and has adapted Persian poetry into English during her career as a teacher and a writer.  Her latest work, Us & Them, is a satire about the Iranian diaspora all over the world. She currently lives in Strasburg, France.
