Changes to IR Core Courses

Highlighted below are some changes to the IR Core effective Autumn 2015-2016:

 

1) Course Number Changes:

The Political Science Department has renumbered several if its courses, in ways that affect all IR students.
 

Introduction to International Relations (formerly POLISCI 1/ INTNLREL 1) will now be numbered POLISCI 101. If you took this class under its old number, you may continue to count it towards the IR core. If you have not yet taken Introduction to International Relations, please be sure to enroll in POLISCI 101.
* Note: Starting in 2015-2016 the Political Science department will also be creating a different course under the POLISCI 1 course number. This new course will NOT satisfy the IR core requirement.

 

Introduction to Comparative Politics (formerly POLISCI 4) will now be numbered POLISCI 104. If you took this class under its old number, you may continue to count it towards the IR core. If you have not taken yet taken this course and would like to take it in the future, please enroll in POLISCI 104.

 

2) Course added to Comparative Governance Core:

POLISCI 114D: Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (INTNLREL 114D, IPS 230) has been added to the list of approved courses for the "Comparative Governance" core
