The last time the Iran has been involved in a lending program with the World Bank was back in 2005. Since then the appetite of international financiers and Iran to collaborate on rebuilding the energy, agriculture and services industry has been consistently on the rise whilst remaining compliant with international sanction regulations.

This talk discusses not only the historical relationship between Iran the World bank but also the potential for future dialogue between the two partners on topics most pressing for strengthening the Iranian economy.

Dr. Tara Shirvani, currently works on large-scale infrastructure investment projects for the World Bank Group. Her lecture focuses on the relationship between Iran and the World Bank in light of international sanction regulations and the potential for future dialogue on topics most pressing for strengthening the Iranian economy.
