Film Screening: "The White Meadows"
Film screening is part of the annual SGS Summer Film Festival. Ten films from around the world that focus on the theme “Earth: Habitat for All” will be screened throughout the summer on Wednesday evenings.

In this dreamlike film, Rahmat the boatman navigates the brackish waters of a coastal land, collecting the heartaches and tears of its inhabitants. But he remains powerless against their misguided attempts to appease the gods and make the land green again, whether by offering a bride to the sea or forcibly "treating" the eyes of a painter who sees in different colors. Mohammad Rasoulof is an acclaimed Iranian writer and director. His films include "The Twilight," "Iron Island," and "Lerd" among others. In 2010, he was arrested in Iran and was sentenced to a year in prison. He continues to be banned from making films in his home country and is currently awaiting trial on charges of "propaganda against the regime" and "activity against national security."
