“Venezuela at a Crossroads” is an academic response to Venezuela's current socio-economic and institutional crisis, unprecedented in its modern history. Using perspectives from various academic disciplines, this initiative aims to expand the debate on how best to address the country's deficiencies. Its main goal is to promote research in politics, economics, sociology, history, and law that may help our community better understand the underpinnings of the Venezuelan situation, which carry broad implications for Latin America at large. It also seeks to spread interest and awareness in the challenges that form part of the Venezuelan life experience.

The event will consist of a daylong conference that will bring scholars from both American and Venezuelan universities together to share their research and expertise on the unstable and volatile Venezuelan reality through various different academic perspectives, in addition to its effects across the Latin American region. There will be five lectures accompanied with two panel discussions. Lunch will be provided upon RSVP.
